9 Benefits of Drinking Water During Postpartum


In Naturopathy, the philosophy is that hydration comes from pure clean water. ⁣

Water (H2O) is known to regulate all bodily functions. β£πŸ’§

My recommendation for new moms is to consume 1/2 of their body weight in ounces of water every day. I encourage even more when breastfeeding because water is extremely beneficial for breast milk production.⁣

Often I am asked if any other beverages such as tea or sparkling water also count as water. My answer is that only water counts as water and water is the easiest choice for your cells to assimilate.⁣
⁣
Many other beverage options are available for nourishment, such as bone broth or golden milk, however, I categorize those as foods because of the healthy fat and nutritional value component.⁣
⁣
Often I suggest that moms focus on getting all of their ounces of water first and then grab a cup of herb tea and enjoy.⁣
